I'm curious if anyone can point me to some discussions--or add their own impressions--about the evolution of the Kossack community and its constituents. I was initially just a reader for about 6 months before starting a diary, gradually became more engaged over the past year, and then became glued to my screen in the weeks before the election. I've been fascinated to watch various trends in the dialog and the personalities that have formed the social fabric of the community, and I'm really interested to hear the insights of some of the very intelligent people here.
Just to be provocative and maybe open the discussion, I was interested to watch how the typical passionate discussion on hot topics evolved from the troll vs. true-believer rants, to a sort of social hierarchy, where a lower id-number, or number of diary posts, earns respect and some deference. This is clearly much less arbitrary than the economic caste system that dominates real life, but I found it interesting the way a community naturally finds ways to order its members, and how that mechanism played out here.
